Cyn Rosi: Journalist and Author

At the age of twenty I emigrated by myself from Seattle to London, England. I had only £800 in my pocket, but I had moxie and hustle.

In London I worked as a reporter, a job one editor said was as easy as “putting your hand in a meat grinder.” He was right.

Our family moved back to the USA, and I freelanced for magazines and newspapers as my children grew. I worked for NBC4 for nearly five years, first on the breaking news desk, and then telling the stories of Columbus, Ohio, using a Sony A7iii, an iPhone 9, and a DJI Osmo. I cut videos in Premiere Pro, and posted accompanying articles in Word Press.

Cynthia sets the standard for what a digital reporter should be.

In 2023 we returned to the UK and I took a freelance job as a video editor on The Sun’s website. There I work in breaking news, cutting video packages to go with some of the nation’s top stories for that day.

In the UK, I’ve re-skilled in British media law, ethics, and regulations through the National College for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and plan to finish the diploma in 2024.
